Incentives for other guilds to achieve higher goals? And then maybe beat EvIL, WM etc... and get the prizes for themselves

I just hope WM or another top guild gets to no.1 this time, its about time someone beat those Koreans.

Despite how negative that comment was, he does have a point. When can we expect the next REAL, meta-shifting patch? After Leipzig?

I think any Guild that competes on a "Professional" level shouldnt be allowed to take part personally which might then give other guilds more incentive as it's pretty obvious who's going to win as they'll get their arses kicked by their sponsors if they dont.

So instead of being epic 'Guild Wars' (I get extra points for using the name of the game here) It's just the same few guilds dominating the top. We all know who they are, they've been doing it for AGES now.

Go do something about it, THINK up new builds. In a worldwide game such as this, you're going to have to put in effort if you really want to be good. You have to be smart, strategic, unique.

What's that you say? "How can I just go and compete with a guild like Last Pride?! Are you nuts?!"

The truth is though, they're only human, and we've all got the same skills to use...

Also this kinda belonged in a thread of its own. Didn't plan for it to be this long...

EDIT -- Also, What ARE you moaning about? A Fun PvP season is still something. What, would you rather nothing at all? Some people...
However true your statement is, it's still not a "logical and/or practical" expectation from majority of the GW community.

I don't GvG much at all anymore, but the double faction deal in the random/team arenas this weekend is still fun. I already had me some of that this morning and it rocks. I still haven't unlocked the Factions skills for all classes yet and I guess I will after this weekend. I guess I'll even max out at 10k Faction in preparation for NEXT weekend.

Oh, and double Gladiator points! Woohoohoo!

*faints*

lol, I saw "fun season" and jumped in looking for "fun". Read the post and thought pretty much what you said...

So, umm, where's the "fun"?.. or is Anet still under the delusion that all players enjoy GW PvP?

Well if people don't pvp, then they probally WOULD prefer nothing to having a 'fun pvp' which they wouldn't enjoy.

I like the idea of excluding any guilds that are in the championship bracket from this type of "fun" contest. It may spark some of the ingenuity that people have mentioned above.

Sadly....thats true.

I dont understand how people cant have fun in this game in PvP even if you completely suck.

We wasted about 2 hours yesterday in HA getting rolled by guild teams in like...30-40 seconds each match.

We call our build "/resign spike".

It was HILARIOUS. No we werent losing on purpose...we were just getting mowed down and we synch resigned when only henchmen were left alive

so...anyway...

I think those guilds with gold trim shouldnt be allowed to get it again

The irony here is the use of the word "fun" in conjunction with prizes to be won. That turns it into a competition and "fun" goes right out the window. Thanks Anet for once again showing favor for a tiny percentage of the gaming population. The rest of us poor shlubs are once again left standing on the outside looking in. Can you please come up with something for the rest of us to have at least a chance at winning some pins? Heck I would take just a random lottery where all game accounts had one shot at it. At least then my odds will have improved from 0 to 1 in 2 million.

If people spent as much time GvGing as they do farming you see more competition

Its PvP. The reward is meant for the elite. Yes GW has casual players. Casual players get casual in game prizes. Stop whinning if you play 1 hour of PvP and don't get anything while top teams put in 3-4 hours daily.

PvE love????
PvE gets more content EVERY freaking release. And you want more love?
And don't even compare the Tournament to PvE content creation.
You get a entire continent, new missions, new monsters, EVENTS, new skins for everything, new NPCs, cinematics, faster unlocks, improved storage (PvP dont need crafting material) etc.etc. etc

What does the PvP community get?
A broken Alliance Battle with a 5 freaking maps (and 2 of them are rarely seen).
4 Guild halls (wooo)
The same Tombs/HA for months
Nameless Isle (wow)
the same hampered creation screen with limited dyes, weapon selection, and maximum of 2 sets.

How much you think it cost to create the Canthan content versus the Tournament?

With you there, but unfortunately PVE players just don't rate in Anets eyes compared to the PVP players.

This is scary, we are competing against ppl who are paid to do this ???????
Just freaking great, I like watching GW-tv, but even in there all you really see is
the top guilds matches, we made it to HoH once and almost won, I was disappointed
when the match was not viewable.

The PVErs get the nerf bat stick in order to bring the refresh and happiness for the PVPers imo.

-_-

some of you people are ridiculous.

New green items were released recently. Does everyone else here have memory problems? Why do you act like PvE has gotten NOTHING?

PvP gets prizes IF they win. and IF only they are good.
